EP20 The accidental Chef - Omar Ben Hassen Tlili

Omar is born in the Czech Republic but as one could guess from his name, then his family background is elsewhere.  It was fine when he was a young kid, nobody cared that he was different until 911 happened, then overnight it changed.  

 

He told me his story, how he got accidentally into Masterchef on TV and overnight became known.  With that came a lot of pressure and expectation that led to anxiety and drug and alcohol abuse which Omar is currently facing head on.

EP19 From an office job to escort girl - Madison

Madison was born in the north of England, she was a pretty normal teenager, got herself a University degree in design and worked for an Icelandic company as a designer in Prague.  She had a boyfriend and they had a child.  

 

Pretty straight forward right?  

 

Then the relationship ended and Madison did a career transformation and became an escort girl, travel companion, part time girlfriend, sugar baby and has never been happier.  She came to my bunker and explained to me her journey, how this industry works and how her friends and family have dealt with this decision of hers.  

EP18 Don‘t panic, there‘s always mañana - Gabriel Matula

Gabriel Matula is a photographer from Argentina who has been living and working in Europe for the past 7-8 years.

 

He visited the Bunker and described the mentality of the Argentine nation as it appears to him and explained why they always loved Maradona no matter what mess he made.  

 

On top of that we covered Gabriel's journey, how the hell he got to Europe and at the same time transitioned his career in photography, his struggles and if he would do it all again if he knew then what he knows now.

EP17 The Witch of Healing - Lenka Lorien

Lenka was traumatised in her mothers womb and has been searching for healing from early teenage years. 

 

Born and raised under communism in the Czech Republic Lenka's path led her to Jehovah's Witnesses which she was part of for a few years, then onwards to England where she got into Cranial Sacral Therapy. She has experimented with psychedelics, ayahuasca, MDMA micro-dosing and multiple other alternative healing methods. 

 

Today she heals other people's traumas with a mix of spiritual methods.  She also teaches drawing, organises nature hikes and sings...like any good Witch does.

EP15 The Prince of Polo - Naveed Gill

The Prince of Polo

 

Naveed's family emigrated from Pakistan to Manchester UK shortly before he was born.  His parents died tragically when he was just 9 and he ended up in an orphanage for a while.  Naveed went on to have a career in top management, which eventually took him to Prague. 

 

It was the type of career that most people would just hang on to as long as they could but Naveed wanted something different, so of course he just opened a Polo Club in the Czech Republic!

EP14 The Future Females - Barbora and Dimana

Barbora Langer and Dimana Mabhena are the ambassadors for the Prague chapter of Future Females which is a global movement to inspire more female entrepreneurs, and better support their success. 

 

Established in 2017 in South Africa, Future Females provide a platform digitally, physically and emotionally where women can connect, inspire and collaborate with each other, and access the resources they need to succeed.

 

They visited my Bunker and told me why this is needed, how it can help and what challenges women currently face when it comes to career choices in the Czech Republic.

EP13 Highly Sensitive Persons in a uniform world - Pavlína Hanzíková

Get overwhelmed easily by lights, sounds, smells and such?  Do you get stressed when there is a lot to do?  Feel bad after seeing violent movies?  After a busy day do you need to withdraw yourself to relief?  

 

If this is the case you might belong to 15-20% of the world population in what is called Highly Sensitive Persons (HSP). 

 

Pavlína Hanzíková is one of them and an expert on the subject and she came to my Bunker and explained what it is to be HSP, in her business her mission is to "Empower highly sensitive and empaths so they can thrive in all areas of their life"

EP12 From Marlene Wilfing to Marley Wildthing

Marlene Wilfing was born into a family of wine farmers in Austria and studied Dutch language.  She was planning a career in translations or anything where her Dutch skills could come in handy..........but then her long term relationship ended and she went to Prague where she was reborn as the musician Marley Wildthing!  

 

She came to my Bunker and told me about her journey, how she creates her music and how she has adjusted her lifestyle so she can live from the music that she loves to make.

EP11 Johnny Youngblood (R.I.P.) - An underdog story

The rapper Johnny Youngblood was born in Portsmouth, Virginia (crime rate 132% higher than US average!).  

He was born with a defect that has influenced his life until this day.  Johnny could easily have gone down a path that would have led to no good but he kept on going and still does despite numerous setbacks including bullying, sexual abuse and drug related issues.

EP10 From insulting the communist cantina to promoting feminism - Silvie Lauder

Silvie Lauder is an awarded journalist, at the magazine Respekt, in the Czech Republic.  For over a decade she has been an influential writer on politics and has covered some of the biggest stories and people in that world. 

 

Lately she has become very active in writing about feminism and equality.  A lot of people see her as a threat to the status quo while others see her as a messenger of change.  

 

Silvie came to my Bunker and told me how she went from complaining about the communist cantina in her town as a kid to becoming one of feminism's biggest proponents.  She gave me an insight on the status of Feminism in the Czech Republic, talked about #metoo and the resilient political corruption in the country.
