In 25 years he’s gone from Icelandic lawyer and airline CEO to tattooed, bearded meat enthusiast with a startup in Central Europe. On the way, he’s made plenty of stops, and cultivated a habit of running into interesting people and asking them interesting questions. "Bad" Jeff Cohen is the owner of one of Prague's most popular restaurants, Bad Jeff's Barbeque.
Raised in Florida in the US, Jeff has been in gastro since an early age and has cooked in over 100 restaurants and for some of the world's biggest celebrities and politicians.
Jeff told me his story, the story of gastro in his family, his troubles in school, how his mom taught him all there is to know about drugs when she busted him getting stoned on her weed when he was 11 and how he very randomly ended up in Prague.
He also explained how he wants his business to run, what is important to him, what he eats and cooks for himself and how Covid has affected his restaurant and what he has done to react to that new reality.
